9 Month Check Up
Rylan did great at his 9 month wellness check up. He didn't even flinch during his shots and actually seemed quite intrigued by the blood samples that the nurse kept squeezing out of his heel. Rylan weighed in at 21lbs 15oz and measured over 29 inches. That's 70% in weight and 75% in height. In my mind he's just right! Our little man is scooting all over the place, can pull himself up to standing position, and has discovered how to open doors and drawers. This has sadly resulted in a few smashed fingers and lots of bruises, but nothing that a few hugs and kisses can't make better.

Moving???
Yup, it's true! Matt and I are moving! Not even we can believe it. The whole thing happened so fast. We've talked about moving eventually. "Maybe in a couple years" we'd say, but never did we think it would happen this quickly. We've done a little research and pinpointed the school district we'd like to be in and even chosen a particular neighborhood (The Terraces) that we like. Last Monday Matt found a foreclosure in The Terraces and it turned out to be listed at a great price. We both agreed to just go for it and submit an offer. You have to act fast on foreclosures because they sell fast! So three days later we put our house on the market and by Friday of the same week we find out that we got the new house and sold our house! I still can't believe it! Let the adventure begin!
Here's a preview of the new house. There will be many more to come because as you probably suspected this house could use a little updating.

Rock Climbing
Matt and I had our very first rock climbing experience last weekend. We went with a couple from our ward who are outdoor adventure experts. They had all the right equipment and knew exactly what to do so it made us both feel really safe as we scaled this huge rock. We had such a great time and it wasn't nearly as scary as I thought it would be. I wouldn't mind doing that more often. Combine the beautiful outdoors with a little physical challenge and it makes for a great day!

Project Complete!
I have to admit that I was really skeptical about doing an addition and going through yet another big, messy home project. I just could not grasp the final vision. But not to my surprise, Matt created an amazing office space that seamlessly blends right in with the rest of the house. This addition has definitely been the best change that we've made to our house so far. It has freed up tons of space and literally affected every room in the house. And the most impressive part of it all is that Matt completed the addition from start to finish in only 6 days!

Happy Birthday to Me?
Last week felt like my birthday. I worked in New Mexico for 3 days and when I came home there was a present neatly wrapped in pink and purple polka dot paper laying on the entryway desk. On the top it read in Sharpy marker, "Happy Mother's Day..." with a sweet note following. (This was a week and a half before Mother's Day by the way. He obviously couldn't wait.) I looked at my husband who had pulled Rylan out of daycare early to welcome me home and he just smiled and said, "It's just a little gift. It was only like 10 dollars. " I looked at him suspiciously as he eagerly placed it in my hands and asked me to sit down and open it. I have to mention that this was one day before Matt's birthday. Matt always seems to give me gifts around his birthday. I'm not sure why. I think he simply gets more pleasure giving than receiving. Anyways, so I slowly unwrapped the gift wondering what he could have possibly gotten me for 10 dollars when I see the word "NIKON" across the box!!! What??? I have wanted a really nice camera since we got married 5 years ago and here it was in my hands! I couldn't believe it! Matt got me a Nikon D5000 and photography classes to go with it!

And just when I thought my day couldn't get any better I get a text message from my girlfriend Adrienne that read something like this, "Call me!!!! It's about Oprah!!!!" I called her right away to find out that she had gotten tickets to the Oprah show and we needed to book flights for Chicago immediately! Five days later I'm on a plane to Chicago for two days! It was an amazing, once in a lifetime experience. We ate Chicago style deep dish pizza, toured most of the city on foot, saw the movie "Eat, Pray, Love" three months prior to it's release date (thanks to Oprah!) and sat about 15 feet from Oprah Winfrey as she interviewed one of my favorite actresses of all time Julia Roberts. So cool!

Our Little Prince
Fiesta is a big celebration here in San Antonio. Rylan's daycare asked me to bring a white onesie on Monday so they could bedazzle it for the Fiesta Parade later in the week. Rylan was going to be a part of the Royal Court. I thought this was absolutely hilarious and couldn't wait to see some pictures of this big celebration. Parents, family, and friends were invited to come to the parade but unfortunately I couldn't make it. Matt was able to go though and said it was a blast to see how excited the parents and kids were. When Rylan's buggy made it's grand entrance into the parade Rylan got a huge smile across his face from all the attention and excitement. Here are some pictures from the day. Apparently Rylan ate his crown right before the parade, so that's why he's the only one without a fancy crown on.
